Dessie Johnson

Dessie Johnson is the daughter of Salma
Rufus Johnson. Her mother is Emma
Drusilla Arnold, Salma being her second husband. She is the
grand daughter of George Johnson and Delia Dibble and great grand daughter
of Capt. John Johnson (Revolutionary War) and Hannah Clark (Mayflower
link). Her father Salma died December 25, 1889 at his age of 35 and Dessie
was ten years old. Dessie, according to inscription on monument, was born
1879 and died 1897, so she was about 18 years old. Dessie is buried in Lisle Village Cemetery in the family plot of her Grandfather George C. Johnson. Also buried there is George's family including Dessie's father Salma R. See the inscription on the monument; Salma R and Dessie are on the same side of the monument. |
