
Murnie LaVerne Lamb, 100, of Port Orchard died March 13, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born July 16, 1899, in De Witt, Saline County Nebraska. The 4th child and 2nd daughter of Frank Leonard Terrell of Illinois and Lucy Lula Rumbaugh of Nebraska.
Murnie married Elias Emmanuel Lamb in St. Francis, Cheyenne County, Kansas on 17 April 1917.
She lived in Port Orchard for the past 65 years and had worked as a cook for many years at Myhre’s Cafe in downtown Port Orchard. After retirement, she took care of children during Sunday church services at a Methodist church in Port Orchard and also at her home for 35 years.
She volunteered with South Kitsap Helpline and many other charitable organizations.
She is survived by three sons, Ivan of Berkeley, California, Leonard of Medical Lake, Washington, and W. Winton of Megalia, California; five grandsons, John Barth of Chimacum, Ed Kruger of Fox Island, Gordon Kruger of Edmonds, Colorado, Howard Lamb of Medical Lake and Greg Lamb of Southern California; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Venita Kruger.
