My sister was given this cradle by my father when his mother Nellie Arnold Graves died in 1977. She has just moved into a smaller place with limited room so she brought it to my house for safe keeping. She wrote the history of it underneath the mattress which states … Salma Rufus Johnson (who was my grandma Nellie’s stepfather) made this cradle for his daughter Dessie (Nellie’s half sister).  It measures 24” x 17” x 17” with the bed measuring 22” x 13”.
